Income Protection Overview

Your Lifestyle Income Protection Insurance

i:protect Lifestyle Income Protection Insurance is designed to pay your critical bills in the event that you are off work through accident, sickness or involuntary unemployment.

Levels of Cover

i:protect Lifestyle Income Protection Insurance  can be tailored to protect up to £1500 or 65% of your gross monthly income (your pay before tax), whichever is the lesser amount. Benefit Payments can be paid for up to 12 months for any one claim. You decide whether you would like full accident, sickness and unemployment cover or just accident and sickness cover only.

Flexible Excess Periods

Flexible Excess periods mean you can choose when your benefit is paid from. So you can set your accident and sickness payments to commence when your sick pay from work ceases and select your unemployment benefits to start when your payment in lieu runs out. This level of flexibility means that your i:protect Lifestyle Income Protection Insurance  premiums can often be made cheaper by simply tailoring your benefit payments for when you need them most.

Back to Work Services

i:protect Lifestyle Income Protection Insurance  comes with a free, independent and confidential back to work advice service that can be used in the unfortunate event that you need to make an unemployment claim. You or your immediate family (in the same household) can utilise the following services:

  • CV Preparation
  • Letters of Application
  • Sourcing Vacancies (Access to the National Jobs Database)
  • Interview Techniques
  • Self-Employment Advice

Lifestyle Income Protection - special features

Other than the excellent value for money offered by iprotect Lifestyle Income Protection Insurance, there are several additional benefits you gain by selecting this insurance to protect you and your family, a combination that you will not find elsewhere:

Your premium will NOT go up if you claim

The iprotect undertaking to all of our customers. We will not put up your premium as an individual because you have claimed. Potentially rates could go up or down for all customers. Your individual policy will be underwritten based upon numerous underwriting factors that we apply to everyone. These factors do NOT include whether iprotect has made a payment to you in respect of a claim.

Our undertaking to you

Professional and honest underwriting are one of the core benefits we offer to our customers. This means that we look at every application individually.

Following consideration of your application, we may ask you for additional information and, possibly, even decline to offer you cover. This is because our underwriters are determined that, as far as it is humanly possible, everyone offered an i:protect policy will be able to claim on it.

All insurers have their own underwriting criteria and policy wording. The premiums they charge will reflect this. Therefore, should we advise that we cannot offer you cover, it does not mean that you will be unable to secure insurance elsewhere.

We want i:protect customers to have the confidence of knowing that we ask the relevant questions at the outset, their policy is valid and there to protect them should they need to claim.

Less small print

The foregoing is a very brief overview of the cover and should be read in conjunction with the full terms and conditions set out in the policy document. To help you decide we have also produced a key facts document and a comprehensive list of frequently asked questions in plain English. We hope you find these helpful.
