Your Lifestyle Income Protection Insurance
i:protect Lifestyle Income Protection Insurance is designed to pay your most important bills if you are off work through accident, sickness or involuntary unemployment (e.g. redundancy).
You pick the cover you need
i:protect Lifestyle Income Protection Insurance enables you to cover up to £1500 or 65% of your gross monthly income (your pay before tax), whichever is the lesser amount. Benefit Payments are paid for up to 12 months for any one claim. You decide whether you would like the full accident, sickness and unemployment cover or just cover for accident and sickness.
What is the benefit of Flexible Excess Periods?
Flexible Excess periods mean you can choose when your benefit starts to be paid to you. This would enable you, for example, to set your accident and sickness payments to kick inf when your sick pay from work ceases and select your unemployment benefits to start when your payment in lieu runs out. This level of flexibility means that your i:protect Lifestyle Income Protection Insurance premiums can often be made cheaper by simply selecting your benefit payments to start when you need them most.

The special features of Lifestyle Income Protection
In addition to the outstanding value for money offered by iprotect Lifestyle Income Protection Insurance, there are several additional benefits you gain by chosing this insurance to protect you and your loved ones, a combination that you will not find elsewhere:
If you claim your premium will NOT go up
This is the i:protect undertaking to all of our customers. We will not put up your premium as an individual because you have claimed. Potentially rates can go up or down for any customers. Your individual policy will be underwritten based upon numerous underwriting factors that we apply to everyone. These factors do NOT include whether any payment has been made to you in respect of a claim.
Our undertaking to you
Professional and honest underwriting are one of the core benefits we offer to our customers.
This means your application will be looked at individually, we may ask you for additional information and, possibly, even decline to offer you cover (sorry). This is because our underwriters are determined that, as far as it is humanly possible, every individual offered an i:protect policy must be able to claim on it.
Every insurer will have their own underwriting criteria and policy wording. The premiums they charge will reflect this. Therefore, should we advise that we cannot offer you cover, it does not mean that you will be unable to secure insurance elsewhere.
We want i:protect customers to have the confidence of knowing that we ask the relevant questions at the outset, their policy is valid and it will there to protect them should they need to claim.
We try to avoid the small print... but
The foregoing is a very brief overview of the cover and should be read in conjunction with the full terms and conditions set out in the policy document. To help you we have also produced a key facts document and a comprehensive list of frequently asked questions in plain English. We hope you find these helpful.
